Length: many species in the genus are 6-10 mm
The seven North American species of Myolepta are generally active in the late Spring.
Eleven Neotropical species have been described thus far (Brown et al., 2010).
The known life histories indicate the larvae in this genus feed on decaying organic matter around tree holes.
