Stone (1965) gave the range of Psectrotanypus dyari as Manitoba to Massachusetts, and south to Missouri and Virginia. He also indicated a disjunct population in Washington and Idaho. The photo at right was taken at Beaver Creek Marsh in Lane County, Oregon. Some on-line postings indicate this species is also found considerably farther south than Stone had indicated.
