Length: Hopper in the photo 4.1 mm to apex of wings
Study of this genus and the related Bothrioceretta have been hampered by the fact that most type specimens are in European collections, while most other specimens are in collections in the Americas. A key is badly needed.
A study of Auchenorrhyncha on Costa Rican coffee plantations found Bothriocera hoppers present, but primarily on Poro rather than coffee (Rojas et al., 2001).
