There are a great many undescribed Clastoptera species from Central America. Rojas et al. (2001) found that Clastoptera species were the third most common Auchenorhyncha in an unshaded Costa Rican coffee plantation, well behind Graphocephala spp. and Fusigonalia lativittata.
This Clastoptera sp. was resting on a leaf in Matagalpa province, Nicaragua.
