Length: 4-7 mm
Not many Cydnids are as easily identified as this one: the pale margin that encircles the bug, and the lack of fine hairs along the margin clinch the ID. Not many Cydnids have the enormous range of Sehirus cinctus, either: From British Columbia to Quebec and Maine, south to Florida and Texas and on into Mexico.
The species has been reported on a variety of plants, including fruit trees, milkweeds, clovers, and mints, among others. The species appears to overwinter only in the adult stage.
