Lophosis labeculta is found from Missouri and Texas to the eastern seaboard states. The ranges extends southward into Mexico and the Antilles, and into northern South America.
In this species the males (top photo) have the upper wing surfaces predominantly purple-brown. The females (lower photo) have considerably more yellow, including a wide, solid AM band.
