Length: 55 - 90 mm in the genus

 

The 5 species of Zoolea have a noticeable lobe near the apex of the femora on the foreleg.  The common name comes from the unusual structure arising from the insect’s head.  Members of genus Zoolea occur from Venezuela south to Bolivia and Argentina.
